Amended Administrative Order 20-001 Emergency Court Closure 

District Court front counters are closed until May 31, 2020, 
or later if the Stay-at-Home Order of Governor Inslee is extended.

All in-person court hearings are cancelled except for in-custody matters and special sets.  Notices will be sent out with your new court date. Telephonic and/or video hearing is available: Click HERE .

7.  How can I get my fine/legal obligations reviewed?
You can make a written request for a review of your fines/legal obligations and providing the court with documentation of your financial situation. Examples of acceptable financial documentation are proof of income, rental agreement, proof of employment, SSI, food stamp entitlement etc. The judge will review your request and submitted documentation and will decide based on the information you provide.

About District Court

The Benton County District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction and has concurrent jurisdiction with the Superior Court in all misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor actions committed in violation of State and County statutes or County and Municipal ordinances. The Benton County District Court handles all matters involving traffic, non-traffic, and parking infractions, anti-harassment and small claims up to $5000.  The District Court also has concurrent jurisdiction with the Superior Court over civil actions involving amounts up to $100,000.
