Our Partners

Our "Partners in Parks" are organizations with specific missions that assist the County with the management and stewardship of the Park System.  They advocate for projects, raise funds, advise on policy, and help to develop overall awareness and interest in the parks throughout the community.


Friends of Badger Mountain
Friends of Badger Mountain
Spearheaded the efforts to raise funds for acquiring the properties that would later become the Badger Mountain Centennial Preserve, and oversees the building of trails at the Preserve now. 


WA Native Plant Society
Native Plant Society 
Advises the Department on plant selection, weed abatement, and other landscape restoration topics.


Washington Back Country Horsemen
Purple Sage Riders
Equestrian group, part of the Back Country Horsemen, that advocates for equine issues in our larger, horse-accessible parks like Horn Rapids and Hover.

Rattlesnake Ridge Riders
Equestrian 
group, part of the Back Country Horsemen, that advocates for equine issues in our larger, horse-accessible parks like Horn Rapids and Hover.


TaptealGreenway
Tapteal Greenway Association
Conservation, recreation, and education organization that promotes access to, and muscle-powered use of the 30 miles of the Yakima River and environs between Benton City and Richland, including Horn Rapids Park.


TC Mini Aircraft Association
Miniature Aircraft Association
MAA leases and operates Higgins Field, the dual-runway miniature aircraft facility inside Horn Rapids Park.


Tri-Cities Shooting Association
Tri-Cities Shooting Association
TCSA leases and operates the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility as a concessionaire on behalf of Benton County.
