The Board of County Commissioners at its meeting on October 28, 2014, adopted Resolutions 2014-806 through 2014-829 and Ordinances 536 through 559 replacing the Board of Adjustment with a Hearings Examiner System as the party responsible for making decisions on various permits and appeals. The Hearings Examiner System became effective on January 1, 2015. You may still access Board of Adjustment agendas, packets, and minutes on our website for dates from December 2009 to December 2015. The Hearings Examiner conducts hearings on the following project permit applications: Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Appeals of Administrative Decisions of permits issued under the Benton County Zoning Ordinance. The Hearings Examiner will also consider applications submitted on lands covered by the County's Shoreline Master Plan.
The Hearings Examiner will hold hearings on the third Monday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Planning Annex Hearing Room located at 1002 Dudley Avenue in Prosser, WA.
