The Benton County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring!

The Benton County Sheriff's Office has 63 commissioned law enforcement positions. All deputies begin their career in the Patrol Division. The Patrol Lieutenant oversees the Patrol Division. The deputies comprise the four patrol squads. Each patrol squad consists of a sergeant, a corporal, and five deputies. Deputies work 12 hours shifts and rotate from days to nights every eight weeks with their squad. The Patrol Division is responsible for 24-hour coverage of all areas within Benton County jurisdiction. 

Lateral Applicants MUST:

  • 21 years of age
  • Be a certified peace officer
  • Continuously employed by present or previous employer as full time law enforcement officer for not less than 12 months
  • Have at least 24 months of full time law enforcement experience
  • Have been employed as a full time law enforcement officer within the last 24 months
  • Have successfully completed probationary period with current or previous law enforcement employer
  • Meet the Benton County Sheriff's Office Recruitment Standards
